Macksville Ex Services Club, your family-friendly club, offering live entertainment, raffles, carpet bowls, darts, cards, pool, snooker, and lucky member's draws for more than 3500 members offers the following report about the Macksville Services Water and Energy Efficiency Scheme:

All parts of this funded project are complete:

  • Installation and commissioning of a solar hot water system.
  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of flow restrictors on all taps.
  • Notification of stakeholders about the project via local media via extesive in-house signage and newspaper advertisements.
  • Ceiling Insulation installed.
  • Skylights installed.

The project is estimated to save 260,000 litres of water, 344 Megawatt-hours of electricity, and 368 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in the first ten years of use.

So far, the new facilities for members have cut consumption across the board by 50%, so the system is well and truly paying for itself.

During the installation and commissioning period, the club has made an equivalent contribution in signage, notifications and other efficiency improvements to the system.
